As an Outside Sales Representative at Spectrum, you will promote trusted products through face-to-face interactions with prospective customers. You’ll play a key role in expanding access to high-speed data and communication solutions while driving customer satisfaction and company growth.
This role requires the ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.
What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)
- Acquire new residential customers by visiting assigned leads and introducing Spectrum services
- Conduct consultative needs analyses to recommend tailored solutions
- Deliver compelling sales presentations aligned with customer needs
- Accurately complete sales documentation (order entry, reporting, etc.)
- Participate in sales meetings and training sessions
- Meet or exceed monthly sales targets across:
- High-speed internet
- Mobile services
- Landline phone
- Video services
- Monitor competitor activity and share insights with management
Working Conditions
- Spend approximately 90% of time outdoors in all seasons
- Frequent exposure to varying weather conditions
- Minimal time spent in an office setting
- Moderate noise levels
Required Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong communication skills (reading, writing, speaking English)
- Excellent interpersonal and customer engagement abilities
- Ability to understand customer needs and present tailored solutions
- Self-motivated with a strong drive to succeed in sales
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
- Basic knowledge of computers and communication devices
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Ability to travel within assigned territories
Other Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliable personal vehicle with insurance
- Satisfactory driving record
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of sales or related experience
- Experience in direct sales, prospecting, or cold calling
- Knowledge of telecommunications or cable services
- Understanding of data networking fundamentals
Physical Requirements
- Extensive door-to-door travel within local communities
- Ability to lift and carry 10–20 pounds
